About Trust

The Trust was set up with an aim of providing qualitative and effective dispensation of academic, professional and functional Education, meant for, and dedicated especially to the poor and the down-trodden sections of the society. The Trust was created by by the visionary, pioneer and a towering personality of Gawai clan—Shri R. S. Gawai. Today the Dadasaheb Gawai Charitable Trust runs and manages 47 Institutes ranging from Primary schools to colleges; the recent addition being an Engineering college.
Vikramshila Polytechnic, run and managed by DGCT has adequate infrastructure and is supported by up-to-date technical know-how, well-equipped labs and also, over and above, has a well-qualified faculty on its rolls. It is committed to the development of the student’s cause in academics and personality development initiatives, including long-term serious attempts to ensure vibrant and active participation by its pupils in social activities like Meditation Camps, Awareness Drives for Family Planning, Employment for Rural Youth, Diagnostic Camps and Computer education for the poor. Guidance Centre for competitive examinations and schools for Physical Education are also run by the Trust in rural areas.
